Lebanese Australian Tae Kwon Do Exhibition

Thu Dec 16 2004

The Lebanese Australian Tae Kwon Do team gave a fine exhibition of their art at the Milad al Ghazal Mouawad yesterday.

On behalf of the Zgharta Ehden Municipal Council, Mr Simon Kandelaft Mouawad gave the introductory welcome speech. In reply Mr Karl Tartak spoke on behalf of the team.

Present were the representative of the Australian Ambassador ,reporters from the Al Anwar and Al Nahar newspapers and Mr Joseph Maarawi, the President of the Council.

There was an exchanged of commemorative shields between the President of the Council and Hassan Iskandar, the Head of the Team.

The only criticism of the event we have and which was echoed by some of those attending was the seemingly lack of promotion of the event as evidence by the low turn out. Also it would have been nice if the role of zgharta.com in the genesis of the event could have been acknowledged by the Council on the day.

We wish the team every success in the competition on the 21st of December in Beirut.

Photos of the event can be seen in the Galleria - Exhibitions.
