Chafic Ghazale was born in 1978, Zgharta. He attended the Notre Dame University, Beirut, where he obtained a BSc in Computer Science in 2002. He rowed in the Lebanese Rowing Championships in 2002 and 2003, receiving the bronze medal in the Spring 2003 Championships. Chafic speaks and writes Arabic, French, and English. He has loved photography since the early 90’s and has always taken photographs wherever he is. Chafic first used a Pentax WR but now uses a Canon IXUS digital camera. His subjects are varied, as is his life, illustrated by the different subjects of his photographs in his Galleria portfolio. One of the reasons why he said he was delighted to create his portfolio was to remind those living away from Zgharta Zawie of its great beauty. He hopes that it will encourage more people to come back to live there. Chafic tells of two people who came back to Zgharta to live, having been reminded what they were missing living away, by his photographs. Chafic combines working in property management for Mouawad Investment Group SAL, and, for the fun of it, modelling for the well-known Lebanese Nidal Bcherrawi Agency.When in Beirut he lives at Bsalim a suburb overlooking North Beirut.
