We post the comments of a recent Ehden visitor who, as you will read, was not over impress putting it mildly, with the hotel she and her husband stayed in and perhaps more importantly the initial booking stages.
In fairness we will not disclose the name of the hotel but it does highlight the high standard and conveience expected these days, rightly or wrongly.
The comments appear on a well known travel website, which mean they have an indefinite life. If Ehden wishes to attract more visitors who do not stay with relatives and who check out potential accomodation and location online, it's hotels, municipality and energy providers must get there act together, so it receives more flattering comments posted online to cancel out such adverse comments.

One of Ehden's more recent built hotels, Master's Hotel, have created their own website,www.mastershotel-ehden.com showcasing its facilities.
The hotel was built in 1990, owned by John Abou Chalha Moawad and located away from the bustle and madding crowds of summertime Ehden on the valley slope opposite Saydet el Hosn, some 1500 above sea level on the Nabaa Jouit Road.

In recent weeks whether the Lebanese really respect their heritage and environment, or just give lip service to them, has come into focus over the increasing encroachment of the Qadisha Valley. Alarm bells were heard when it was reported that UNESCO was considering withdrawing the Valley's World Heritage status. It was said that they were concerned about the building of restaurants and other touristic sites, poor sewage treatment and management, waste dumping and the use of cars and 4x4 vehicles along the valley floor.

It seems that bloggers may out number locals and wild animals these days in Ehden.
Blogger, Theodore May, recounts his encounters with an expensive Lebanese taxi driver, a weekday deserted Ehden and a wild boar in the Horsh Ehden, in his post, "Man meets Boar." |

Tourism should not stop at the city limits of Beirut. Such is the thinking behind the website beyondbeirut.com, who is seeking to promote the other regions of Lebanon.
This month it is promoting North Lebanon in its special feature, Eye on the North. Mentioned but admittedly not fantastically are Ehden - Kibbeh - Al Midan - Horsh Ehden.
