Mar Mama Church ( Saint Mamas)

It is the oldest Maronite church in Lebanon built in 749 AD on the site of a pagan temple.  The Church incorporates some of the stones from the temple.

Mar- Elias Church ( Saint Elie)

The church was built between the 6th and 7th centuries in the vill.age of Bkoufa, near Ehden. It was designed according to the old Maronite style of three aisles heading towards the East. It was named after the saint due to the large numbers of his believers in the village and surrounding area.

The Monastery of the Cross "Deir-es-Salib"

It was named the Convent of the Cross due to the presence of a Cross formed by natural weathering and rock formation. Built beneath a huge natural ledge, this monastery has a double chapel and a number of caves in the cliff side, which were used as hermits' cells

Our Lady Of AL- Hara

The church is in Ehden and was built with  arched stones in 1512 and renovated in 1920. The painting of the Virgin Mary which hangs in the Church, was brought from Rome by Patriarch Stephane Doueihi in 1655

The Monastery of Saint Sarkis & Saint Bakhos (Mar Sarkis Ras An-Nahr)

The Monastery is so called because of its location near the beginning of the River Sarkis. It is built on the ruins of a pagan temple whose huge stones were used in the foundations of the old monastery.

The Lady of the Fortress  (Our Lady of Al-Hosn)

When the Church was built, on the site of an old temple honouring a goddess, a fortress was also built around the church.

The Church of  Mar Abda

The church  is situated above the water source of Saint Sarkis River, Ehden.It was reported in some ancient script that it was part of the cloisters of Saint Sarkis's monastery at Ehden. The building has been renovated several times.

St. Peter and Paul

Was built in the 13th century, then rebuilt built in the beginning of the Seventeenth Century on the remains of the great paganism temple, and was renovated in the year 1900.

Saint Moura Monastery

Patriarch Stephane Doueihi said that the construction of the monastery  took place in 1339. The monastery was given later to the Maronite Aleppine Order. The Oreder was named this as a sign of respect to the origins of the three maronite men, who came from the city of Aleppo in Syria, Jibrayel Hawwa, Abdallah Qaraalli and Yusef al-Bitn  who wished to set up a new religious order.

The church of Our Lady of Jouit

The church was built by Bishop Joachime Yammine, alongside the water source of the river Jouit, in 1755. It was destroyed during the First World War (1914-1918). It was restored and consecrated in 1977.

Saint Samaan ( Simeon)

The Church is situated in the centre of Ehden, and was built in 1803 in honour of the saint .In the church’s sacristy is a painting of the saint.

Cathedral of St. George

The cathedral was built on an ancient site dating back to pre Christian times The present construction begun in 1855,adjacent to the old church, and was finished in 1880, with the tower, which is 16 metres, being completed in 1898.
